Last night at the Verizon Center

Last night's game was as exciting as the redskin's football game on sunday. We were down by one (Caps:2 Senators:3) with only a minute left in the last period when just 30 seconds left in the period, the Caps scored a goal and tied it up! Which was pretty damn exciting seeing how the Ottawa Senators were pretty damn skilled at moving around on the ice and scoring most of their points within the first period. With the game in sudden death overtime, it only took another minute and a half when the Caps scored again! It was a pretty fun game, especially for a guy that's not that into hockey to being with.
Etiquette
11.02.2006
The problem of staying in the area that you grew up in is sometimes you're gonna bump into old & familiar faces. I just had an encounter of such. I wasn't entirely sure but I think I bumped into a guy that has been in my class since 6th grade. But here's the thing, he was a complete asshole to me throughout our time from elementary to high school. So I walked on by. I looked straight at him, did a double take, thought long and hard about yelling out his name, but then thought why would I even care to talk to this guy? If it was him. He was completely condescending to me and treated me like a second-class citizen. Was it proper etiquette to say hello? So we could recount and reminisce on the good old days? What good old days? Exactly. I think I made the right decision.
Halloween Spirit

We did the most old-people thing you could think of on Halloween. We eschewed the kids that came around last year asking for candy by going over to a friend's house that lives in the non-kid apartment areas of Glover Park. Its strange that most of the apartment neighborhoods in NW where working professionals and students live have almost zero trick or treating traffic. We used to live in McLean Gardens a few years ago and I had expected some Halloween foot traffic and was sorely disappointed when there wasn't any.
We went over there to watch a very annoying old school movie called "The Haunting." There was a remake recently with Liam Neeson and Catherine Zeta-Jones which I didn't see, but from my understanding, it was even more horrible than the original.
It was selected for one reason, it was rated G. Some of the attendees, including me, don't have a stomach for Horror movies. I guess I'd take an annoying movie over a movie that was gonna have me freaking out in the middle of the night when I get up to take a trip to the bathroom.
The benefit to all of this is that we got to keep all the candy that we would've given out that night, and now I feel like a kid again with a bagful of sweets that I can pig out on for the rest of the week. Problem is, I know better to do it because I'd be in a world of hurt after downing a pound of chocolate and sugar in a sitting.
